I am happy with this set, and can't wait to hear them when they break in. These strings will sound good for all kinds of music, especially my music, which is blues, 60's soul, rock n roll and country. The E string doesn't over power the other strings, and the G isn't overly bright, but warm like the rest. They have a nice warm tone, and each string has an even balance as far as warmth.
The fundamental is clear all up and down the neck and the tension is not real stiff on this set, but slightly stiff. In the videos the GHS Precision flats were as close to the sound I am looking for, and relatively inexpensive too. I listened to as many video reviews as I could find and compared the sound of GHS with Fender, Chromes and La Bella on a P bass and Jazz bass because I play a P and a J, each a four string. I did a lot of research before buying another set of flats for my P bass since I haven't used them for a while. I've been playing bass for 40 years, mainly using rounds.
